On March 11, 2017, the Style Saves team, along with a group of eager volunteers, traveled to Medellin, Colombia for their 4th annual service trip to work at a local orphanage. Casa Hogar Nazareth cares for a total of 40 kids, ranging from ages 5 to 12, and is privately owned and funded.
Carrying a total of over 16 large duffle bags filled with generous donations from Miansai, Johnson and Johnson and Aveeno hygiene products, clothing, toys and art supplies from Gilt, and, Style Saves team was ready to equip the orphanage with brand new resources.
Upon arrival, we were incredibly happy to be able to equip Casa Hogar with these donations and replenish basic necessities that were lacking at the house such as toilet paper, soap, medicine, among others.
“Taking the time to help those less fortunate is important to myself and Miansai because through Style Saves we can make a direct impact with the kids and communities we work with.” -Michael Saiger, Founder of Miansai
Meeting and spending quality time with the children was priceless. We came to impact others and we left being impacted by them. Our days spent with the children were filled with arts and crafts, soccer games, endless laughs, and painting colorful new murals for the home.
Seeing the joy we were able to bring to the children lives was incomparable. We can’t wait for our visit next year!
“Traveling to Medellin, Colombia for the Style Saves 4th annual service trip to spend time with the children at Casa Hogar is truly unforgettable. Giving back to others is something that never gets old and is always in style.” -Rachael Russell, Founder of Style Saves
