On August 18th and 19th, 2018, Style Saves teamed up with the community and hosted its’ 8th annual Back-To-School event at Mana Wynwood Convention Center, in the heart of Wynwood, Florida. The organization served over 5,000 Florida students with brand new uniforms, outfits and school supplies for the new school year, along with fun filled days of activities.
The goal is to alleviate the pressure of going back to school as a problem many financially low-income families face. By providing these necessary items, Style Saves helps turn the start of a new school year into a fun event instead of a stressful time.
Students from over 60 organizations including Miami-Dade Public Schools, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Voices For Children, His House,The Lodge Miami, Irie Foundation, Mentor Network, Lotus House, The Guatemalan-Maya Center, and many more, attended the event. Students were invited to shop our pop-up shop and stay for an afternoon of fun including arts & crafts, dance classes, a photo booth, face painting, and several more.
A huge thank you to our sponsors Jordache and Cayre Group LTD. Students also received haircuts from Junior & Hatter, IGK, The Barber Job Inc. along with beauty from GEE Beauty and Glamsquad and enjoyed food and beverage from Pizza Bar, The Melted Scoop, Health-Ade Kombucha, Red Bull, Bunniecakes, Amazonica, Pepsi, OTL, Spris Pizza, Pueblito Viejo, and Los Bobos Cafeteria, and sports by C2C Sports and The Miami Heat.
With over 700 volunteers from Groot Hospitality, Miansai, Miami Dade Police Department, Bank of America, Soho Beach House, Eberjey, 1Hotels, and Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart assisting to organize and produce the giveback event, Style Saves consistently makes an incredible impact on the community together.
