Style Saves’ 9th annual ‘Back-To-School’ event took place at Mana Wynwood Convention Center on August 17thand 18th. The Miami community rallied behind Founder Rachael Russell Saiger and Board Member Isabela Grutman to provide 7,500 underprivileged students with the necessities required to succeed in this upcoming school year during two full days of carnival-themed fun.
Style Saves serviced an impressive 7,500 students- their largest amount of kids to date coming from over 300 organizations, such as South Florida Public Schools, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Voices for Children, Lotus House, The Guatemala-Mayan Center, to name a few.
“We want to help more students and spread this community as wide as we can. There is no greater feeling than helping others. Truly the smallest acts of kindness can go a long way.” -Rachael Russell Saiger
The goal of this annual event is to diminish the stress of going back to school from lower-income families, while also ensuring each child starts their first day with confidence. Every student had the chance to shop for brand new uniforms, shoes, backpacks, and school supplies from brands like Puma, Sketchers, Jordache, Fast Forward, State Bags, Juntos Project and Office Depot while complimentary beauty services were provided by IGK, Gee Beauty and Glam Squad and entertainment and food were donated by the Miami Heat, Event Depot, Hypemakerz, Zhantra, Frito Lay, Pizza Bar, Falafel Fresh, Bunnie Cakes, The Diplomat Hotel, Evian, Health-Ade Kombucha, Sweet Leaf Tea, and Pepsi.
