On August 19th and 20th, 2017, Style Saves hosted its’ 7th annual Back-To-School event at the headquarters warehouse in the heart of Wynwood, Florida. The organization served over 4,000 Florida students with brand new uniforms, outfits and school supplies for the new school year, along with fun filled days of activities.
Going back to school can be a financially hard time many low-income families face. By providing these necessary items, Style Saves helps turn the start of a new school year into a fun event instead of a stressful time.
Students from over 60 organizations including Miami-Dade Public Schools, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Voices For Children, His House,The Lodge Miami, Irie Foundation, Mentor Network, Lotus House, The Guatemalan-Maya Center, and many more, attended the event. Students were invited to shop our pop-up shop and stay for an afternoon of fun including arts & crafts, dance classes, a photo booth, face painting, and several more.
Students also received haircuts from Junior & Hatter and IGK, along with makeup from GEE Beauty. Generous brands provided donations including Under Armour, Perry Ellis, Jordache, GILT, Fast Forward, C2C, Frankie, Spris Pizza, Jugofresh, Pop Chips, VitaCoco, Pepsi, and Gatorade.
With over 200 volunteers from Miansai, LIV, STORY, Komodo, OTL, Bank of America, 1Hotels, and Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart assisting to organize and produce the giveback event, Style Saves consistently makes an incredible impact on the community together.
